Rich, dark, very tender and flavourful. Not a children's dessert but a sophisticated grown ups dessert cake. I used 2 t instant coffee to half cup of hot water. I added 2 teaspoons of Marsala to the mascarpone mixture and added 1 teaspoon of gelatine soaked and melted to this mixture also to guarantee the cream would hold up with the extra liquid as my vanilla was in liquid form too. The cake has lovely pieces of chocolate through it so chop your chocolate to a small enough sized chunks to be enjoyable.
